Sometimes you come across an artist or illustrator from the past and you just get so excited about their work (well I do, anyway!).

I recently came across some vintage travel posters illustrated in the 1950s and 1960s by a British artist called Daphne Padden. I don't know very much about Daphne. She was born in 1927. Her father Percy Padden was a famous Poster artist and Daphne, too, went on to illustrate posters, mainly travel posters and advertising posters for the GPO. She is still painting today.

I have 11 posters in my little collection, and I am going to frame them, possibly for Jules' bedroom. I love the colours and the brilliant use of images and typography. If you want to see more I have a Flickr set for Daphne Padden here.
