THIS IS... THE SPACE IN WHICH I CREATE

We're quite a creative family and we tend to use all the spaces in our home for creative purposes - the kitchen for baking, cake-making and concocting deliciousness, the dining room table for drawing, writing and painting, I knit and crochet in bed, and even the bathroom is a creative space, frequently used by my sons for 'boy's own' scientific experiments! But the focus of our creativity is our studio, which we use for both work and play. When we moved to this house it was two very old cottages and we joined them together, with the oldest cottage becoming the big studio and office space. It's a really cosy space at this time of year as it has a huge wood burning stove, and a TV for the evenings. Much thinking and making goes on in these rooms!

Thanks to Quilting Mick for this week's theme!

How lucky to have such amazing space for your studio and that everyone takes part. I love all your vintage drawers, book and swap cards etc. And you are so so organised (which I love too).

Ahhhh... I would love extra room to spread out.

Did you neaten it up for the photos?
My studio is what you would call "organized chaos." And,I must sort all my swappies like yours.Very practical.

Hi Allison, this room looks like much fun and lovely to see a favourite Twinkle annual (pic 2) and one of those marvellous Pollyana cut outs, how have you managed not to cut into it? Lovely.

Wow! You have inspired me! Number 1 to clean up my own studio and number two to try and uncover the exact same Sylko box with drawers that I recieved as a gift 3 months ago and have been meaning to photograph since! It came full of thread and all! Your workspace is great x

Oh I tried to comment yesterday but it just froze up...I do love that wonderful space. You certainly do have a crafty craft home - welcoming for all the family.

Me Oh My! If you ever need a helper I could come and make tea and even bake scones to give you sustenance while you work. In fact I would do anything just to be allowed to sit quietly in the corner and drool.

wow, I absolutely love your blog. What an abundance of child hood memories come to mind. My nan had a dress shop for 33 years full of old buttons, threads, sewing machines and fabrics. I will be visisting regularly. It makes you feel so happy to look at these things. Thanks for keeping the memories alive. Hayley
