Update

Thanks for all the lovely messages of support! The latest is that the fire is under control, but the weather is looking really bad for Friday and extra fire troops are coming in from other states in preparation. We have put our pets into pet hotels and taken most of our precious things to our friends house in Melbourne. We are all ok, a bit tired, and struggling to keep on top of everything but our friends have all been amazing with offers of help. Sydney was a blast by the way, I'll report on the trade fair when things are back to normal. But it was ace! X

Oh so pleased to hear from you. And so glad you had the chance to move your precious bits. I was talking to the boy about you this morning. We know that family and pets come first- but there are so many precious bits and bobs that define our memories. He said he'd rescue his Tom bear and his old apple laptop (which doesn't work). HA! t.x

Hi Allison, all the best to you & the boys (& pets!!) Must admit, when i read your post i thought of the Cath Kidston wall papers you used in your home, is that crazy??
It's weird when you are faced with the choices of what you'd take. I grew up in a Sydney bush fire zone (Ku-ring-gai) then spent over 6 years in tropical cyclone zones (Darwin) so we have it down pat. Still scary.
Reality hits when you go shopping & all the batteries, bottled water, milk & torches are sold out. Then you know it's serious as everyone has the same idea!! Thinking of you & your precious worldly goods, love Posie
