Our usual Saturday morning out-and-about promised to be a bit disappointing today, as we had to go into Ballarat to look at bathroom fittings (yawn!). But luckily I remembered that there is an op shop near to the plumbing supplies shop, a real gem of a shop that I hardly ever go to. It was open (hurrah!) and I came out with..
A gorgeous vintage roses tablecloth for $1.50. I have a large dining table and can hardly ever find large -size vintage tablecloths but this one is huge and a beauty!
A couple of cute old children's books.
A vintage shadow picture frame. I've been collecting these for a project.
And a smashing vintage shirt dress for $4. I love this, it's just what I have been looking for. The lady said they had taken in a whole batch of similar dresses, and they'd been 'walking out the door'. She seemed a bit bemused by their popularity! Unfortunately I lost the belt for the dress somewhere on the way home but it's still lovely!
After the plumbing and op shop we went for a family pizza at Eureka on Sturt Street. It's one of those real old-school Italian restaurants, a bit daggy but very homely. There was a roaring fire today, and the service is always really friendly.
And finally for a hot chocolate at Sweet Decadence, right next door to Eureka. So not such a boring trip after all!
