Boo Hoo!

Disappointing news - the lease has fallen through on our new shop and café in Ballarat. It just wasn't going to be viable on the terms we were being offered by VicTrack, so we took the hard decision to pull the pin. It's kind of a relief in a way, as I have freed up some time for other projects I want to work on this year, but at the same time I'm disappointed as it was such a lovely building and a great location. And I was so looking forward to working with our lovely coffee people and suppliers. So we're looking around again, and we will hopefully find somewhere else to set up shop, but it may take a while as it has to be perfect. Thanks so much to everyone who has been behind the idea and has supported and helped Paul and I, we really appreciate it! x

What a bummer - so sorry to hear it :(
But if there's one thing in life I am completely sure of it is this: Things will happen when they are MEANT to, even if it doesn't seem so at the time. As disappointing as it seems now, it probably means there is something bigger and better waiting in the wings :)
Good luck with the search for a new premises Allison, I'm sure your cafe dream will eventuate... even better than you had imagined in the first place.

You will find something better, this was not meant to be.

Oh drat, I was looking forwarding to visiting too!

Did you ever happen to go to the store 'Country Mouse' in Ballarat? I forget what street it was on, but it was just up from the railway station. I had grand dreams of you setting up something similar where I could browse and drink coffee.

But when one door closes, another opens, so hopefully the door opening now is much grander!

Oh what a shame! I was looking forward to coming to visit the new store, oh well up to Daylesford I'll come! I bet you find an even better space when the timing is perfect.
Love your attitude ( and everything on your blog!) Dee - BabyGalah

That is dissappointing. Have you ever thought of moving to a warmer climate? Queensland is very nice! AND its closer for me to visit! :)

Bugger - I had half my school ready to come on opening day. Something else is sure to turn up.

You seem like such a positive person. It really is such a shame when you fall in love with something & then for reasons beyond your control, it falls through. I hope that soon you'll come across another premises which really is PERFECT. :)

What a great disappointment! I'd been telling everyone I know here in Ballarat that it was something to look forward to! I'll keep my eyes out for a good-looking rental and let you know if I spy anything! There is a closed provincial/high tea shop on the corner of Macarthur and Doveton Sts - maybe that's for lease? All the best for finding the perfect location.
