Love getting busy making good and useful things but hate waste? The Bendigo Sustainability Group are hosting Bendigo’s first craft swap to circulate crafting materials out and about.
It is taking place tomorrow 20th August 7.30pm – 9.00pm La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre, 121 View Street, Bendigo.
The photo is of Verity Lougoon, a local sustainable textiles gem who will be speaking on the night about her sustainable crafting practice. Also speaking is Hayley Lou of remade.com and indigenous artists from Shepparton who have recently reclaimed their lost local crafting of basket weaving.
This free event looks to be a fab night out if you are interested in craft and saving the planet.
How does the craft swap work? Collect a “Craft Swap Bag” from Make your House a Home 67 Williamson Street Bendigo or alternatively contact Janine (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve your bag for the night.
Fill your bag up with the same type of crafting items (such as wool, fabric, paper etc) and bring along to the event Friday the 20th of August. This is a free community event supporting local craft activity that is considerate of the environment, minimising waste and maximising fun.
