More OK! Diner pics

After my last post I was inspired to look back through our photos and I found LOTS of photos taken at the OK! Diner over the past 6 or 7 years (typical of our family to have a café as the backdrop to our lives!). Here are a few, my how young we all look!

Still going through my holiday snaps. I love this photo of me and my boys outside the OK! vintage American diner on the A1 motorway at Stamford, one of our fave eateries in the UK (I know, we're so classy, aren't we?!). We had just totally stuffed ourselves on triple veggie cheese burgers and milkshakes and cherry sundaes! Mmm, it is making me hungry just thinking about it...

Truly Scrumptious

How darling is this new party collection? I love it!

Made in the UK, where tea parties reign supreme, it is inspired by vintage china.

The cake stand is so pretty, and there is also a rosebud garland, canape sticks with little sayings like 'be tempted', flower toppers for fairy cakes, paper plates that look like Nanna's best plates and more.

This would be amazing for a girly cream tea, baby shower, birthday party or just a sweet gift. It's currently only available at Lark but it will be available through our lovely stockists later in the year. Find Truly Scrumptious here.

This week's market

This Saturday it's the Daylesford Maker's Market, it's set to be a fine weather day and there will be quite a few fresh new makers alongside the regulars so please come along!

I will be helping out at the Info desk at the market in the afternoon, please come and say Hi!

Lark will be open from 10.30 to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. We're filling it up with all the new Rice stock and other fresh goodies so pop in if you haven't been for a while, it's full of good new things.

By the way, the market is on the lookout for some nice cake/cupcake/baking stalls to take part in the busy Christmas markets - contact the organisers via the website if you are interested!

Pretty Pink

It rained today so I made some little Tea Cup Biscuits, after hearing about them from Liz. What fun! It only took a few minutes and the ingredients all came from Coles but my kids were very impressed! You can find the recipe right here.

And this is my favourite tree, looking lovely!

Lovely Kim at Cuckoo Nest has been busy whipping up a new batch of Toadstool Houses, Mounted Deer Heads and other lovelies. You can find them here. Kim's fans (I am the biggest fan) might like to know that she's currently making new cuckoo clocks and tea sets so we'll have those soon, along with something new, something that I think is the best thing she has ever made, especially for us. You will love it!!! Wait and see. x

Rice, yippee!

We've just received our Spring delivery from Rice in Denmark all the way to Australia. Yummeeee! As usual it is full of colourful and pretty things for your home.

Here are a few of my personal favourites from our store...

Wooden painted spice rack (my Nan used to have one just like this!)

Giant Patchwork Pouffe, yay!

The colourful cups - now in 16 sweet colours.

This new Berry print kitchen storage range, it is very pretty (adios, boring storage!!).

Peacock Rubber Door Mats.

These pretty bowls that can be used in the microwave or for serving.

Ha ha, love these 'Roccoco' mirrors!

Folksy glass jugs.

These new Jumbo picnic teacups, the colours are perfect.

Patchwork chair cushions.
And I can't resist these tiered food containers, I am definitely getting one to bring my lunch to work each day!

We also have some super-sweet sewing accessories to add to your craft basket...

Rice is wonderful, because not only do they make really nice things to bring some colour and personality to your space, but also they are all ethically manufactured.

To see the full Rice range, visit our online Rice shop or come to Daylesford!

Holiday Jigsaws

I have a love for vintage jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. Look at the boxes for these old jigsaws I found at an op shop in England, aren't they fab? Love the colours and design of the packaging, I really do!

There was a whole pile in the shop. For 50p each you could get motoring jigsaws, country cottages, steam trains, puppies, holidays, the royal family...

I wish I could have brought all of them home with me!

Looking for something?

I've had a few emails to Lark recently along the lines of 'when will the pink cuckoo clock be in stock as I was hoping to order it along with some bunting, a pack of red spotty cupcake wrappers and a copy of Anorak issue 14?'. I LOVE hearing from customers but these particular emails are always tricky.

You see, here's the thing. Many of the lovely suppliers to Lark are very small businesses. Often we only receive one or two of a particular product in an order because they take a long time to make, or because we want to offer our customers a wide range of special and unique things.

So it's generally pretty unlikely, if you are after 3 or 4 products from different designers, that we will have them all in stock at exactly the same time. We do try, but it's sometimes not possible.

So if you have set your heart on something in our shop and it is available, I would say GO AHEAD and order it without delay. Tout de suite. Don't wait until something else that you like comes in, as there's every chance that the first thing will have sold to another eager customer by then. Our postage costs are very reasonable so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

There, I've said it! Some of our most popular products are due to come in over the next few weeks - Cuckoo Nest clocks and toadstool houses, new Cath Kidston bags, Belle & Boo prints - and I would hate anyone to miss out. In some cases this will be our last shipment before Christmas.

But if you do miss out and something you really love IS out of stock, don't forget there is a link on every page that you can click to receive an email as soon as the item comes back into our shop. And it really works! One morning we received three Patchwork Bear Rugs from Cuckoo Nest and by lunchtime they had all sold to customers who had asked to be notified.

Another great way to find out what's new in stock is to subscribe to our shop newsletter (there's a link on this page, on the sidebar). It's actually quite cute as well as informative!

Thank you! xx

Four Figures Giveaway!

Yay!!! Thanks to everyone who helped me get to 1000 blog 'followers', I am so excited, this is such an awesome number! I started my blog nearly four years ago when I moved to a whole new continent and needed to stay in touch with my friends and make new ones. There weren't many blogs around then but my pal Tanya persuaded me that I would love it and she was right. Writing my blog (and reading other people's blogs) has gone on to become an important part of my daily routine and something that I do love to do. To be honest, even if I only had 10 followers I would still write it. So thanks to anyone who regularly pops in to say hello!

And here as promised is a little giveaway for you. It is open to anyone who cares to leave a comment and it includes some of the things I like most from our shop...

A Daisy Lane Swap Card Album and two packs of Swap Cards.

Pastiglie Leone Candies.

A bobbin of Liberty bias binding.

And a selection of cute greeting cards from our shop.

So come on, please leave a comment and I will draw a winner on 1 October for this whole bag of Lark goodness.

And thank you for reading my blog!xxx
