Modern Vintage Style

Now here is a book after my own heart! Modern Vintage Style by Emily Chalmers. I love her work, and this book shows you how to achieve a modern take on vintage, with lots of thrifted and colourful goodness. Lots of real homes, including gorgeous rooms by Nathalie Lété and Petra Boase. It's in our shop here.

Just a random photo of cupcakes...

I hope you have a delicious day!

New Cath Kidston goodies

We just received a small new shipment from London - here are a few of the lovelies. I think they would be perfect for Mother's Day, especially the little espresso cups and the vintage tea towels that come in a tin (hint hint if my kids are reading this!!). Find our Cath kidston shop here!

A very British party!

One month today until the Royal wedding!

What a good excuse to hold a tea party, or even a good old fashioned street party! You'll find all the supplies you need in the Best of British shop at Lark.

Don't miss the Corgi cake toppers and 'Victoria Sponge Appreciation Society' cake stand. Or the cross-stitch Union jack teapot vase. Find it all online here. Jolly good show!

I really like these four new illustrations by Mandy Sutcliffe of Belle & Boo. They come in a 7x9" mounted print, signed by Mandy. I think they would make a lovely Easter gift.

Also new from Belle & Boo, this beautiful Family Tree Poster! You can find Belle & Boo in our store here...

Racial Harmony Day at school - yum!

I snapped just a fraction - the harmony day at school this week, organised by my big boy's wonderful grade 4 teacher, was fab and I was too busy scoffing to take many photos. Eight huge tables laden with food from all around the globe! As a family, we have travelled a lot and always enjoyed trying food from different cultures, so it is great to finally be at a school with so many families from different places - China, Belgium, India, Japan, France, Africa .......... love!!

Sasha's Store

I simply couldn't resist sharing with you these amazing photos from Sasha, owner of Harem women's store in Fitzroy and now also the completely adorable Babe in the Woods shop near the Vic Market in Melbourne. HOW GOOD IS THIS SHOP?? I think I love it even more than my own. Check out the dressing room, and the wallpaper Sasha made from hexagons, and the vintage storybook shop sign, and all the cute and colourful products. Sasha is so lovely, she's one of my favourite Lark stockists, and as you can see, our products are right at home in her store! There is no website yet, so you must pop in next time you are in the area. I think it's a jolly good excuse to visit the Vic Market, as if you needed one. x
