Party On!

What a simply brilliant idea! Amy Dowling struggled with parties when it came to her son Ned, who has food allergies, so she developed these fab cupcake cases and food flags to help kids (and adults) identify foods that they can safely eat.

But these cute cases are far from dull and worthy - Amy thoughtfully commissioned some super-groovy design, making these the coolest cups at any party! Wow! There are seven styles to cover allergies including nuts, eggs, dairy and gluten, find them at Lark here!

Three Birthdays and a Wedding...

Phew! What a week this has been... my birthday, Paul's birthday, my best friend's birthday, our wedding anniversary, our friends' wedding anniversary, Easter, back-to-school and the Royal Wedding (for which we went to a FAB party). I am giddy with the excitement of it all and will be glad when May comes, with only Mother's Day as a highlight! I need a lie down...

Easter Monday

We had a glorious afternoon yesterday in Daylesford. The sun was shining and we had received a phone call just the night before from some dear friends from our old Cambridge days who live near Melbourne but who we haven't caught up with in nearly four years. We met up at the lake and strolled around, catching up on kids and jobs and stuff. When the sun went down we drove over to Clydesdale where they are renting the most adorable old farmhouse for a few days. I had to take some photos - it was a beautiful old stone building, with chickens and horses, and just the right amount of crumbliness. The kids played board games (stored in the old kookaburra!) in front of the wood fire while we ate tacos and drank wine in the farmhouse kitchen. Bliss! I could seriously live in this place, it's just my cup of tea. I did steal a few ideas for The Lark House, I must admit!

Lark welcomes Celia Birtwell

We're so excited to have a sweet little gardening range in store this month, featuring prints by Celia Birtwell. Celia is a British style icon of the 1960s. With her partner Ossie Clarke she dressed the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, Paloma Picasso, Talitha Getty, Patty Boyd, Twiggy and Marianne Faithful. To name a few. Wow! Her original textile designs for Heal's and Liberty are incredible. Celia's work is currently being rediscovered by a new generation, since her collaboration with Top Shop in 2006.

These darling gardening tools feature Celia's floral prints and are packaged in pretty gift boxes. I can just picture myself pottering about in the veggie garden with these, can't you? I think they would make a perfect Mother's Day gift. Find them here!

Mother's Day sorted.

That's it, call off the search! BYO coffee cups are now available in four pretty colours perfect from mums who like to grab a latte on the go. $10.95 each. Hurrah!!

This Saturday!

This weekend's Daylesford Maker's Market promises to be a really ace one - it's a full house with lots of new makers including the very talented Morgan Wills, music from Geoffrey Williams and yummo food from the Bees Knees Brownies (who give out lots of freebies) and Winnebagel. Don't you love the name Winnebagel? Here is Drew in his retro 80s van, I can tell you he serves the meanest toasties and chocolate crackles ever!!

I'll be helping at the market in the afternoon, and Lark will be open Saturday and Sunday 10-4. Also open on Saturday morning if you fancy a bit of thrifting - the MS Op Shop next to Lark and the Daylesford Bazaar on Vincent St. And don't forget to check out my friend Sarah's shop Black White & Rouge just around the corner from Lark, she has some gorgeous Mother's Day gifts including lots of design books and some teal felty slippers that I have dropped a big hint to Mr Lark about, hee hee. Hope to see you on Saturday, it's going to be a crisp and beautiful sunny day according to the weather reports! x

Nice things today...

This amazing kitchen display in our shop that clever Jordana set up at the weekend. I really love these colours.

This vintage ballerina fabric. I found a couple of metres at my favourite stall in the Daylesford Bazaar. Not sure what I will do with it yet, perhaps some cushions?

A pretty little parcel from Mandy in London, with cute bunny cookies from Daylesford Organic, a UK foodie company that is well-known over there, how funny to find another Daylesford!

Hope you're having a nice day too! x
