I'm back from Sydney!

Came into the office this morning to find a lovely pressie on my desk from Tracy (the super awesome person who runs our warehouse): a big basket of veggies from her garden and eggs from her chooks, and in the basket was the display bunny from the Lark shop that Tracy's little girl has been 'minding' recently. Awww!

Yes, I have been away for a week in Sydney, exhibiting at Life in Style and also buying for our shop at various trade fairs. In case you missed the Facebook posts, here is a pic of our stand:

It was very popular, we made a rainbow of paper decorations at the front (all of which will soon be available to buy). You can see more pretty pics here. Had lots of fun shopping at the EQ farmer's market, eating out with lots of lovely pals who were also exhibiting, being a city girl again for a few days, it was all marvellous. Ahh! But t is nice to be back in the country and back at my desk, where I'm working on our Autumn catalogue right now. Hope you've had a fun week!

Hello Petal

One of my favourite trends in craft and design at the moment is Petals, I keep on finding lovely petally things. A petal is a little like a scallop, but more overlappy I think.

I happen to know that at least two of my favourite Australian designers will have some special petal things at the gift fair next week, so I'm getting a bit excited about seeing them, and bringing some petal power into our store!

Lark behind-the-scenes update!

So what's new at Lark HQ?

Did you know, our lovely Lark goodies are moving into a big new dispatch centre/warehouse as we speak? We have finally outgrown our little old place (boo!). But the great news is that Tracy and her team of ladies who pick and pack all your gorgeous orders will have much more space to work from, and this means even better service.

We're also going to be shipping by Australia Post eParcel, which means complete tracking on your orders. Nearly all of our orders ship the same day as it is, but this will mean even faster delivery! Now shopping from Lark is even better, yeah!

We're open right now ONLINE and every day of course, to take your order, and if you haven't visited our web store for a while I think you will be quite delighted at how many lovely new gifts and homewares we have found recently. I'm totally loving the new designers we are working with.

Psst... we will be having the biggest EVER garage sale once the warehouse has moved! To find out the date, please subscribe to our weekly newsletter.

Lark's Daylesford shop will stay just where it is in Duke Street. Sadly, our gorgeous Jordana has now returned to Melbourne and Emma and J-Mara are back at school for Year 12 (good luck girls!). But we have two lovely new ladies starting, and the shop is also currently being refreshed and re-stocked with all the new season ranges! If you would care to visit us one weekend in March or April I think you will find it is looking very splendid!

Next week I'm off to Sydney to meet our stockists at Life in Style and launch our Autumn collection. Yay!

So that's us. Business as usual, even though lots is taking place behind the scenes. Do drop Lark a line and say hello, we love to hear your ideas and feedback.

Lark Daylesford is not open this weekend!

The Lark Shop in Daylesford will be closed for repairs and redecoration this weekend. Apologies if you were planning a visit.

The website will of course be open, and the shop will reopen next weekend (18 Feb), with lots of new stock and some new faces too! Watch this space...

New designer at Lark: Madame Chalet

Occasionally I come across a new designer/illustrator who is so TOTALLY on my wavelength, and this was the case when I discovered Madame Chalet recently. I literally gasped at how much I loved her work!

Genevieve is a Swiss girl living in the UK (hence the Chalet), and she designs the cutest ever gifts and cards, with four collections inspired by vintage figurines, cross-stitch and tapestry, old storybooks and, of course, her Swiss heritage. Hurrah, I say!

The first delivery from Madame Chalet arrived at Lark this week, and I couldn't open the box quick enough!! There will be even more goodies to come later in the month. But for the meantime, here are the gorgeous things that you will find in our shop from today:

Mirrors, Notebooks and Pocket Mirrors from the Les Marmottes collection.

'Say It' Badges (there are lots more, this is jut a sneaky peek)

Cahier's D'Ecriture vintage schoolbooks collection on mirrors and cards

Cross Stitch collection on badges and mirrors (last minute Valentine gift idea!!).

I am super-excited to be launching Genevieve's work in Australia, and I hope you will love it too! We have created a special page for it all on our website HERE...

Have a great day x

New Cath Kidston Prints

Just a little preview of some of the new 2012 Cath Kidston prints. I love the 'Circle Ditsy' in pink and blue and the themed fabric like Battleship and Be a Good Sport, celebrating the London Olympics. Also the new Petal Print, it has a very 60s vibe.

It always takes a little while to get the new season stock over to Australia but we will have all these lovelies next month, on accessories, home wares and children's things.

You can find our current Cath Kidston goodies here. Lark is an authorised stockist and we only sell the real thing, not the seriously uncool knock-offs that I keep seeing about the place these days (boo)!
